Israeli forces shot and killed, on Tuesday, two Palestinian citizens, including a woman, and injured at least eight others in the city of Tulkarem, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that two Palestinian citizens succumbed to wounds inflicted on them by occupation soldiers, one at the Tulkarem Governmental Hospital, and another at the Al-Israa Hospital.

Medical sources at the Tulkarem Governmental Hospital identified the slain citizens as Ahmad Jamal Ahmad Majdouba, 25, while media sources said that the young woman, Heba Shehada Mosleh Halawa, 21, arrived at the Al-Israa Hospital.

According to the Health Ministry, eight injured citizens arrived at the Al-Israa Hospital and two others arrived at the Tulkarem Governmental Hospital, all of whom had sustained mild to moderate injuries as a result of soldiers’ gunfire.

Media sources said that on Tuesday afternoon local Palestinians discovered that an undercover Israeli unit had infiltrated the city, sparking protests before military reinforcements stormed the city and the Tulkarem refugee camp.

Sources added that a large number of military vehicles besieged the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, surrounded the Tulkarem refugee camp, and invaded many neighborhoods, while bulldozers tore up the streets leading to the camp.

Occupation forces positioned sharpshooters on the rooftops of tall buildings in the vicinity of the Tulkarem refugee camp, while reconnaissance drones flew over the city and camp.

The Arab 48 news website quoted the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades-Tulkarem who said, “We are engaged in fierce clashes with the occupation forces storming the vicinity of Tulkarem camp with machine guns.”

Media sources said that during the invasion of the Tulkarem camp, Israeli soldiers fired live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters at citizens, shooting several citizens, including a paramedic.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that their ambulance crews transported a young man to hospital after he was shot in the knee with live ammunition.

Later the PRCS released a statement denouncing the occupation army’s shooting of a paramedic while he was treating a patient, and the storming of its ambulance centers in Tulkarem and the Tulkarem camp.

The PRCS statement added that Israeli soldiers stormed and surrounded its ambulance center in the camp and detained its ambulance crews.

It added that in the southern neighborhood of the city, soldiers invaded the PRCS headquarters, the army detained ambulance crews, inspecting their ID cards, and abducted the ambulance officer, Moataz Jumaa, the paramedic, Tawfiq Kanouh, and the volunteer medic, Abdul Rahman Ahmad Hamad.
