On Saturday evening, Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a young Palestinian man, after the army invaded the al-Far’a refugee camp, south of Tubas in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the slain Palestinian as Abdul-Rahman Ahmad Abbas Darawsha, 26.
The Health Ministry added that Darawsha was critically wounded by live fire during the incursion and later died of his injuries at Tubas Governmental Hospital.
Witnesses reported that Israeli soldiers deployed at the camp entrance and opened fire indiscriminately, triggering panic among residents.
The Israeli military claimed that its forces fatally shot a Palestinian man because he was allegedly “planning to carry out an attack against them,” however, it failed to provide specific details regarding the nature of the alleged “threat” posed by the individual.
It added that troops from the Paratroopers Brigade’s reconnaissance unit were involved in the incident and opened fire on the man, resulting in his death. The military confirmed that no soldiers were injured during the incident.
This killing is part of a broader pattern of lethal raids by Israeli forces targeting refugee camps and civilian areas across the West Bank.
The use of live ammunition against unarmed residents reflects a policy of excessive force and impunity, in violation of international humanitarian law.
Saturday witnesses escalating violations by Israeli occupation forces and illegal paramilitary colonizers across the occupied West Bank on Saturday, targeting Palestinian towns, refugee camps, and agricultural lands, resulting in injuries and property destruction.
This escalation follows the killing of two Palestinian children—Mohammad Abdullah Taym (16 years old) and Mohammad Rashad Fadl Qasim (16 years old), by Israeli forces the previous night. The boys were shot near the apartheid wall in the upper neighborhood of Al-Jadira. Their bodies remain withheld by the occupation.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 235 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 45 children and 7 women.
Since the beginning of the year, occupation forces and illegal settlers have killed 80 Palestinians in Jenin, 41 in Nablus, 30 in Tubas, 20 in Hebron, 19 in Ramallah, 17 in Tulkarem, 9 in Bethlehem, 9 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho, according to the Shireen Observatory.
