Israeli forces shot, on Wednesday, five Palestinians and abducted three during a military incursion into the Dheisheh refugee camp, southwest of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank.
On Wednesday afternoon, Israeli forces, accompanied by special units, stormed the Dheisheh refugee camp, southwest of Bethlehem, sparking protests among local Palestinians.
Media sources said that occupation forces fired live rounds and tear gas canisters at Palestinian citizens, shooting five young men with live ammunition, and causing others to suffer the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Bethlehem, its ambulance crews transported five Palestinian young men who sustained live gunshot wounds, while several others were treated for inhalation injuries at the scene
Many Israeli troops were deployed in the “Al-Jaafra” neighborhood on the main Jerusalem – Hebron road, where Palestinians confronted the invading army.
While storming and searching Palestinian-owned homes in the neighborhood, soldiers attacked several citizens.
Soldiers broke into and searched the homes of Ahmed Sami Al-Jaafari, 32, Khaled Jamal Al-Jaafari, 32, and Karim Mustafa Al-Atrash, 60, before abducting them.
Media sources added that the army also stormed the town of ad-Doha, west of Bethlehem, without any reports of injuries or arrests.
In related news, the Israeli army abducted seventeen Palestinians in various regions of the occupied West Bank, and nine in the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron.
