On Monday, the Israeli Navy released two Palestinian fishermen who were abducted a year ago after navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats with live fire and water cannons in Palestinian waters in the Gaza Strip.
Media sources said the Navy released Ahmad Al-Faseeh and Mohammad Silawi from Gaza City, who were abducted on April 9, 2022.
The two were on their small boats when the army attacked many fishing boats near the shore, causing damage.
The Ad-Dameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association said at least 4900 Palestinian political prisoners are held by Israel, including 1014 under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial, 155 children, and 32 women.
On Monday, May 1st, Israeli navy ships attacked Palestinian fishing boats about three miles off the coast of the Al-Waha area northwest of Gaza City in the besieged and impoverished coastal region, shot two fishermen, and abducted two others before confiscating their boat.
The attacks are part of constant Israeli violations against the Palestinians, especially the fishermen, farmers, shepherds, and workers in the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip, and resulted in dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to severe property damage and the confiscation of many boats after abducting the fishermen.
In March of 2021, the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza said Israeli mines were responsible for an explosion that killed three fishermen.
Also Monday, many Israeli military vehicles invaded the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp south of Jericho in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank before the soldiers killed a teenage boy, Jibril Mohammad Al-Lad’a, 17, and injured Palestinians, including three who suffered serious wounds, and abducted two.
