Illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers and occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian young man and wounded eight others, on Saturday evening, after invading the town of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Mayor of Aqraba, Salah Jaber and a medical source with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that a Palestinian young man was killed after being shot in the chest with live ammunition.
They added that eight others sustained live gunshot wounds as a result of the attack, most of whom were shot in their lower limbs; they were transported to hospital for medical treatment.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of a 23-year-old man identified as Mo’in Sobhi Mohammad Asfar, adding that he was killed by Israeli settlers during the attack.
Mayor, Salah Jaber reported that armed paramilitary colonizers, from the newly established settlement outpost, built on Palestinian lands south of Aqraba, stormed the southern part of the town.
Media sources reported that unarmed Palestinian citizens confronted the invading settlers before occupation forces arrived and opened fire with live rounds towards those citizens attempting to protect their land.
Earlier Saturday, a group of colonizers invaded Shallal Al-‘Awja village, north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank, and released their livestock to graze on Palestinian farmlands,
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 192 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 37 children and 6 women.
Occupation forces have killed 65 Palestinians in Jenin, 34 in Nablus, 27 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarem, 15 in Hebron, 12 in Ramallah, 9 in Bethlehem, 5 in Jerusalem, 4 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho.
In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 60,430 including women and children, while at least 148,722 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
