Israeli soldiers closed, on Wednesday at night, two main permanent military roadblocks in the occupied West Bank, blocking vital Palestinian traffic and isolating vast West Bank areas, without providing any explanation.

Media sources said the soldiers sealed the Container roadblock, northeast of Bethlehem and east of occupied East Jerusalem, which links the southern parts of the West Bank with its northern parts, and prevented all Palestinian traffic.

The soldiers also closed the Qalandia Terminal, north of Jerusalem and south of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Although the Israeli army never officially stated the reason behind the closure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated several weeks ago that he intends to implement the illegal American-supported Annexation Plan of the large areas of the illegally occupied West Bank at the beginning of July.
