On Thursday, Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian child, and injured two children, in the towns of Methaloon and Saris, south of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) medics transported a slain child, Ali Hassan Ali Rabay’a, 15, from the town of Methaloon, to the Turkish Hospital in Tubas, in the northeastern part of the West Bank.
The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported that Israeli forces invaded the town, leading to protests before the army fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers invaded the town after withdrawing from the nearby towns of Saris and Al-Judeida, south of Jenin, where they surrounded a home and abducted two young men, Mohammad Elian, and Ahmad Zahran, both from the Al-Far’a refugee camp, southwest of Tubas in the northeastern West Bank.
The Eyewitnesses added that the soldiers also burnt a Palestinian car, and closed several streets after they surrounded several areas.
During the invasion of Saris, the soldiers shot two Palestinian children with live rounds, causing moderate wounds, before the medics rushed them to a medical center for treatment.
The army then withdrew from the two towns and while passing through the main street of Methaloon town, protests erupted before a soldier, inside an armored military jeep, shot and killed Ali with live rounds.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics moved the slain child to the Turkish Hospital in Tubas.
Large crowds of mourners gathered, on Thursday evening, in front of the Turkish Hospital in Tubas, before proceeding to the slain child’s family home in the town of Methaloon.
The slain child’s funeral was held at the town’s local mosque, before marching towards the local cemetery and burying him there.
