On Wednesday morning, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian man after he reportedly rammed his car into Israeli soldiers at a military roadblock, seriously wounding one, near Ramallah in the central part of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli sources claimed the Palestinian injured an officer after ramming his car into a soldier at the roadblock and stepping out of his car carrying an axe before the soldier, who was on the ground, fired several rounds at him and killed him.
The sources said the wounded soldier was conscious after suffering limb wounds before he was evacuated to Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem, where he was admitted to surgery.
The hospital said the Israeli sustained multi-systematic wounds and was in serious condition.
The Palestinian driver, who the soldiers killed, has been identified as Habes Abdul-Hafith Rayyan, 54, from Beit Duqqu town, northwest of occupied Jerusalem.
Habes is the father of Qussai Rayyan, who Israeli soldiers abducted in September of this year, 2022, and he remains imprisoned, and former political prisoner Assem Rayyan; both are said to be members of the Islamic Jihad.
