Late on Tuesday night, Israeli soldiers invaded Jenin city in the northern West Bank, killed two Palestinians, and injured several others, one seriously.
Several Israeli military vehicles invaded Jenin from the area of the Al-Jalama military roadblock and surrounded the areas of Jenin Governmental Hospital and Ibn Sina Specialty Hospital in the city, leading to protests.
Media sources said undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the area but were soon noticed and exchanged fire with Palestinian fighters, especially in the Jenin refugee camp and around it before many military vehicles invaded the city.
Medical sources confirmed that the soldiers killed Qassam Mohammad Jabarin, 25, and Assem Walid Bal’out (Dabaya), 39.
They added that the soldiers also shot and injured several Palestinians with live fire during the invasion and that one of the injured was in critical condition while doctors continued to attempt resuscitation.
Among the wounded Palestinians is a young man who was shot near Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital in Jenin, the sources stated.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its fighters, along with fighters from several other factions, exchanged fire with the invading soldiers and detonated a highly explosive charge near the invading military vehicle.
Media sources said Qassam, a fighter with the Jenin Brigades, is the brother of Adham Jabarin, 28, who was a leader of the brigade and was killed by Israeli soldiers in Nablus on January 19, 2023.
Adham was killed by an Israeli army sharpshooter following an exchange of fire between fighters and Israeli soldiers who invaded Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Another Palestinian, Jawad Bawaqna, 58, was fatally shot by the soldiers after he stepped out of his home and tried to render first aid to Adham; he suffered multiple fatal gunshot wounds.
In related news, heavy exchanges of fire were reported between Palestinian fighters and Israeli soldiers who invaded Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern West Bank.
Early on Tuesday dawn, the Israeli army assassinated five Palestinians in Tulkarem city, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
Medical sources identified the five slain citizens as the child, Adnan Ayser Jaber, 15, the child, Mohammad Ahmad Mohammad Elian, 16, Mohannad Kamal Mohammed Qaraawi, 20, Jibril Ghassan Ismail Jibril, 20, from Qalqilia, and Mohammad Ali Mustafa Youssef, 49.
Late on Monday night, illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers killed Khalil Salem Khalil Ziyada, 40, and moderately injured three in Wad Rahhal village, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Also Monday, Israeli forces killed Eyad Ayed Abed Najjar, 46, in the village of Janba, in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
Israel has now killed 654 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023, 168 were killed in Jenin, 139 in Tulkarem governorate, 71 in Nablus, 68 in Hebron, 59 in Ramallah, 42 in Tubas, 28 in Qalqilia, 28 in Jerusalem, 19 in Bethlehem, 16 in Jerusalem, 12 in Jericho and Northern Plains, and 4 in Salfit.
Among the slain Palestinians in the West Bank are 150 children, 9 women, 7 elders, 1 journalist, 2 medics, and 13 detainees.
