The Israeli occupation state, Wednesday, announced their intent to expropriate hundreds of dunams of Palestinian land in Yatta town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
According to Palestinian WAFA News correspondent, the authorities distributed leaflets in the Birin area, east of Yatta town, claiming hundreds of dunams of Palestinian-owned lands as Israeli “state land”.
Rateb al-Jabour, the coordinator of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Committee, told WAFA that this manoeuvre is only one element of Israel’s strategy to ethnically cleanse the indigenous population from the Masafer Yatta area.
The occupation state seeks to displace the Palestinian residents by force or coercion, in order to replace them with illegal colonists.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states;
The occupying power [Israel] shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies [Palestine].
