The Israeli army shelled, Sunday, two alleged resistance sites in the besieged Gaza Strip, the site sustained material damage, but no human casualties were reported.
A Palestinian Information Center (PIC) correspondent stated that at least two artillery shells struck two observation posts to the east of Deir al-Balah city in central Gaza, and to the east of Khan Younis in the southern Strip.
The Israeli army claimed that tanks shelled areas ‘belonging to Hamas’ in retaliation for the ‘incendiary balloons’ that Palestinian youths release into the air, which have sparked wildfires in southern Israel.
In related news, the Israeli occupation authorities, Friday, offered Coronavirus aid to Gaza, by way of mediators, on the condition that activists stop flying flammable balloons from the besieged enclave, the Israeli channel 13 reported.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas leader, Ismail Haneyya, said that “his movement and the people in Gaza are determined to confront the unjust blockade until it is lifted entirely.” the PIC further reported.
Haneyya expressed his gratitude for the current mediation efforts made by diplomats in Egypt and Qatar, put an end to the Israeli siege on Gaza.
Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has ordered his government to assist the besieged Gaza Strip to manage the recent coronavirus outbreak in the Strip, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
Mai Alkaila, Palestinian Minister of Health, said the committee will travel to Gaza next week to assess the needs of the people of the tiny coastal territory with regards to overcoming the pandemic.
