Israeli forces assassinated, late Friday night, a Palestinian man, and injured eight others in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

Before midnight on Friday, Israeli warplanes bombed a home in the Jenin refugee camp, executing a Palestinian young man and injuring at least eight others.

Media sources said that Israeli fighter jets fired at least two missiles at a home in the Al-Damj neighborhood in the camp.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the bombing killed one Palestinian young man, and injured eight others; they were all transported to the Ibn Sina and the Jenin Governmental Hospitals.

According to Wissam Bakr, the director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, the slain young man was identified as Islam Khamaysa.

At least one of the citizens who arrived at hospital was a young woman who sustained a moderate shrapnel injury.

It was added that the targeted home was completely destroyed, while surrounding homes sustained damage.

The Times of Israel quoted the occupation army and the Shin Bet, the Israeli intelligence agency, who claimed that the targeted home was an “operational war room”.

The army claimed that the slain young man was allegedly responsible for the death of an Israeli near the illegal “Homesh” colony in May of 2023.

In a statement, the army and the Shin Bet said that two fighter jets and an attack helicopter were used to bomb the building.

They claimed that the targeted members of the so-called “terror network” were responsible for shooting attacks and were planning future attacks.

The statement added that the bombing “was carried out to remove an imminent threat posed by the terrorists who were involved in advancing terror attacks in the area of Jenin and Israeli territory”.

The occupation army published an infrared video documenting the bombing on the “X” platform.

The Arab 48 news website reported that Khamaysa was identified as one of the leaders of the Jenin Battalion, the armed resistance group in Jenin.

Israeli forces have killed 506 Palestinian civilians, including 125 children, while 20 Palestinians have been killed by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the Israeli military has killed at least 35,303 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, including more than 15,103 children and 9,961 women, and injured more than 79,261, mostly women, children, and the elderly.
