After the Israeli Army Hasbara (propaganda) department published a picture of an elderly Palestinian woman and claimed that the soldiers rescued her and provided her with medical treatment, the woman lived to tell her story of abuse by the Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli army published a picture of the elderly woman, with clear signs of cuffs on her hands.

The army claimed that the woman was “rescued by the soldiers,” and that she reportedly told them that her family fled to the southern part of Gaza before Hamas fighters “tied her and told her to claim the army did that to her.”

From the surface of the story, and you do not have to be a genius, Israel wants to tell the world, or at least those idiots who would believe its lies, that Hamas who is rather busy with an existential fight, literally, and massive Israeli bombardment of every part of the Gaza Strip, has the time to sit down, come up with a plot, send its fighters, for an unknown reason, to abuse this elderly Palestinian woman, tie her up, and order her to claim it was Israel! And not just that, but also left her “tied for two days”, hoping she would survive and tell the story “they gave her.”

However, unlike the previous incident when the Israeli soldiers took pictures of themselves “helping Palestinians,” before killing them, this woman, despite her age and frail body, actually lived to tell the story.

Al-Jazeera said the woman, Um Mohammad, after she was rushed to a Palestinian hospital said that the Israeli soldiers arrested her in January, cuffed her, beat her up, and left her without food or medical treatment for several days before releasing her.

Al-Jazeera added that the woman was moved to the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Younis where she received treatment despite the lack of medical supplies.

Talking to Anadolu News Agency, the elderly woman said: “I was taken prisoner along with many other Palestinians in the Ma’en area, east of Khan Younis after the Israeli soldiers invaded it.”

“It was really cold, I tried to remove the cuffs, but I couldn’t, I was left without food or water, and the soldiers repeatedly beat me up while detaining me…” she added.

While she can’t remember exactly how many days the soldiers held her, she estimates it was between 11 and 12 days.

On January 26, 2023, the Israeli army released a video on X social media platform, containing a picture of the women carried by the soldiers on a stretcher, and then being treated by them.

Israeli army spokesperson for Arab media, Avichai Adraee, claimed that the soldiers “found the woman cuffed during their operations in Gaza,” after they deployed a surveillance drone and started talking to her in Arabic and Hebrew just in case she was one of the Israeli captives…”

Adraee, who is known for being interviewed by various Arab media outlets, including Al-Jazeera, claimed that the elderly woman said her family fled to the south, before “Hamas terrorists found her and cuffed her, and then ordered her to say it was Israeli soldiers who did that.”

He concluded his script by stating that the soldiers “provided the woman with the needed treatment and released her.”

Released to where, to whom, and if she was released, why then this frail woman was found alone, hungry, thirsty, and almost dead!

Some unit of the army might have given her some treatment after she was tortured and abused by the soldiers, or for the sake of the photoshoot, amidst a massive propaganda campaign to whitewash the well-documented ethnic cleaning of the Palestinians in Gaza.

After the soldiers allegedly “treated her” and for some unknown reason left her in the cold, although they could have taken her to a hospital, handed her to any Palestinian medic or resident, the woman was located by Palestinians who immediately rushed to help her and moved her to the hospital for treatment, where she later told them the entire story.

Any person who knows anything about the Arab culture, Palestinian culture, knows very well that it is not only religion, regardless which, but also one of the core foundations of the Arab society is to care for the seniors, to respect them, and seek advice from them due to their long experiences in life.

Mistreating a parent, or an elder, is one of the biggest sins that no Arab culture tolerates, let alone the Israeli fabrication that her “family fled, and left her behind! before Hamas fighters found her.”

We are talking about families that dig with their bare hands under the rubble of their bombarded homes, trying to locate survivors.

Her story is one of dozens in which the Israeli occupation army tried to polish its image amidst clear evidence of ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinian people, by carpet bombing entire residential areas of the densely populated Gaza Strip, its medical centers, and all institutions and infrastructure.

I think the story the army came up with could have been more believable if the soldiers sat down, and maybe drank a cup of Arabic coffee from one of the homes they bombed or looted! Or maybe they should have smoked a blunt before hand to come up with a better narrative!

But, yet again, just like the Shifa Hospital story, they failed and their story backfired, as we have seen especially with the Shifa Hospital and that “Calendar” that literally had the names of the week in Arabic while the army spokesperson was trying to tell the world the Calendar “had names of shifts for Hamas fighters” who apparently are named  (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

The Israeli army even killed some of the Israeli captives while raising white flags just because they thought they were Palestinians.

Many Palestinians who were abducted by the Israeli army, and tortured for days or weeks, before being released, explained the horrors they endured in captivity, the torture, the bad treatment, the hunger, and the thirst.

One of the released men said the soldiers would throw them in water, in the cold, and beat them up, and how he and all detainees would remain cuffed and blindfolded, repeatedly beaten up, including in the face, the head, and the chest.

They also said that they were forced to walk in the mud and the dirt, and were left without food or water.

We have also seen the horrific images of captured Palestinians, stripped naked, and abused, before the army rounded them up on buses and took them away.

The Israeli army has already killed at least 28,663 Palestinians, and injured more than 68,395, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023, in addition to the thousands of Palestinians who remain missing, largely buried under the rubble or their corpses remain on streets and in alleys, as rescue efforts remain obstructed due to the constant bombing, the massive destruction, and the army’s deployment in many areas.
