Israeli forces wounded several Palestinian citizens, including children, on Wednesday, and abducted others, after invading and besieging the Old City of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews treated 37 citizens with various injuries in Nablus city, and transported a number of them to the hospital for treatment.

The PRCS said that two Palestinian young men sustained live gunshot wounds, one sustained shrapnel injuries from live rounds, while five citizens, including a child were shot with rubber-coated steel rounds.

The same source added that 27 citizens suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation, one sustained injuries as a result of a fall and one was assaulted by occupation forces during the military incursion.

Media sources said that dozens of Israeli military vehicles stormed the Old City of Nablus after midnight on Tuesday/Wednesday, imposing a tight siege, while invading several citizens’ homes.

Sources added that occupation soldiers were deployed in many neighborhoods, while sharpshooters were deployed in the Sufyan Street area and Martyrs’ Square in the city center. They reported that the army stormed and searched several homes, forcibly evacuated their residents in the Al-Qasaba neighborhood, and converted some homes into military barracks.

The Arab 48 News website reported that Israeli forces surrounded the Nablus National Hospital, invaded several commercial shops in the Ras al-Ain area, abducted and abused at least 2 children, in addition to abducting an unknown number of young men.

The same source said that dozens of local Palestinian young men attempted to repel the Israeli military force by hurling rocks at the armored vehicles. Soldiers responded by heavily firing live rounds, rubber-coated steel rounds, and tear gas canisters at unarmed citizens.
