Israeli sources reported on Thursday that fourteen Israelis were injured, one critically, in a “car-ramming” attack near Haifa. Among the wounded were two police officers. The driver, a Palestinian from Jenin, was shot and killed.
The Israeli Army Radio stated that a car rammed into a group of people at Karkur intersection, injuring fourteen individuals, including one in critical condition and two with serious injuries.
Other reports from Israeli Channel 12 mentioned that eight people were injured, three seriously, and added that the police “neutralized” the assailant without revealing his identity. Israeli Channel 13 confirmed that two of the wounded were police officers.
The Israeli Magen David Adom emergency service reported that some of the wounded received treatment at the scene, while others were transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Haifa.
The Israeli Jewish Telegraph noted that a 17-year-old girl was critically injured, and twelve other Israelis were also injured.
The driver, identified as a Palestinian from Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, was reportedly “illegally living in Israel” and was fatally shot by police officers when he “exited the car carrying a screwdriver.”
According to the Shirin Observatory, the Palestinian was identified as Jamil Fuad Zayyoud, 53.
Some Israeli sources suggested that he carried out the attack to avenge his brother, who was injured two weeks earlier by Israeli soldiers during a military offensive in Jenin.
Additionally, on Thursday, Israeli occupation forces assassinated a young man during their invasion of Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, according to security sources. The forces detained his body.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the killing of Mahmoud Ibrahim Sanaqra, 25, by occupation forces’ bullets in Balata refugee camp.
On Wednesday, a Palestinian young man succumbed to wounds he sustained two months ago after an Israeli airstrike in the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
The army continued its aggression against Tulkarem city and the Tulkarem refugee camp for 31 days, and the Nur Shams refugee camp for 18 days.
Media sources said that the young man, Abdul Rahman Khaled Nawwas, 20, was pronounced dead on Wednesday evening, at the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah, where he was receiving treatment.
Sources added that Nawwas sustained missile fragments injuries to the head and chest on December 24, 2024, when an armed Israeli drone fired missiles into the center of the Nur Shams refugee camp, wounding three Palestinian young men, including Nawas.
Also Wednesday, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian child while he was in the vicinity of the Apartheid Wall in Qalqilia, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
WAFA correspondent reported that occupation forces shot the child, Hamed Fadl Muwafi, 17, in the head with live rounds, on Wednesday afternoon, while he was near the separation wall, built on Palestinian lands in Qalqilia city.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli occupation forces have killed 93 Palestinians, including 16 children, in various regions of the occupied West Bank. According to the Shireen Observatory, Israeli forces have killed 41 citizens in Jenin, 18 in Tubas, 14 in Tulkarem, 10 in Nablus, 5 in Hebron, 2 in Bethlehem, 1 in Qalqilia, and 1 in occupied Jerusalem.
