A report released by the Government Media Office in Gaza sheds light on the relentless offensive carried out by the Israeli occupation army against unarmed civilians in the besieged, destroyed and starved Gaza Strip, in the last twenty day, with children suffering the most from its devastating airstrikes.
According to the report, over the past 20 days alone, Israeli forces have launched brutal indiscriminate bombings, resulting in the killing of 490 children. This brings the total number of casualties during this period to 1,350 Palestinians.
The report highlights that these killings are part of a deliberate and systematic policy targeting Palestinian children in Gaza, refuting claims by the Israeli occupation that these deaths are merely collateral damage.
The Government Media Office strongly condemned these targeted crimes against children and civilians, describing them as part of a broader campaign of genocide.
It called on the international community, international organizations, human rights groups, and humanitarian bodies to denounce these horrifying acts and take immediate action to stop them.
Furthermore, the report holds the Israeli occupation, the U.S. administration, and other involved countries, including the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, fully responsible for these ongoing massacres. It asserts that their involvement in these crimes is a disgraceful stain on their historical legacy.
The report adds: “The continued international silence and failure to hold the Israeli occupation accountable constitutes clear complicity in the genocide unfolding before the world’s eyes.”
It calls for urgent and immediate action from the international community, human rights institutions, and international courts to halt the genocide and conduct thorough investigations into the targeting of children and civilians.
This year alone, the Israeli army has killed at least 2,575 Palestinians, including 536 women, 548 children, and 113 elderly individuals.
Among the identified victims, 527 were children, 317 were women, 111 were elderly, and 15 were journalists.
The report also provides a breakdown of casualties by region: 694 Palestinians were killed in Gaza governorate, 429 in northern Gaza, 347 in Deir Al-Balah (central Gaza), 233 in Rafah, and 198 in Khan Younis.
Israel has now killed at least 50,095 Palestinians, including more than 15,617 children, 9,803 women, 232 journalists and 23 medics, since October 7, 2023. The number of wounded Palestinians have exceeded 115,525 largely children, women and elderly, across the Gaza Strip.
