A Palestinian child was killed, on Wednesday evening, after Israeli soldiers opened fire into an area east of the al-Qarara town, northeast of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said that Abdullah Abu Methyef, 10, was killed when Israeli soldiers, stationed on a military tower across the border fence, east of Khan Younis, fired many live rounds on residents’ homes. The Israeli army issued a statement denying any involvement in the shooting.
Dr. al-Qedra added that Abu Methyef was shot with a live round in his back, and died from his wounds at Nasser Hospital, in Khan Younis. He also stated that eyewitness accounts confirm the fact that the soldiers shot the child, in contrary of Israeli military allegations, adding that the child was killed close to his house.
On Wednesday morning, Israeli soldiers, stationed across the border fence, fired many live rounds targeting farmers in Palestinian lands, close to the border fence, across the eastern area of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Elsewhere, Several Palestinians were injured by live fire and rubber-coated steel rounds, Wednesday, during clashes with Israeli forces in the town of ar-Ram, to the north of Jerusalem, according to local sources.
This is the third day clashes erupt in al ram between invading troops and local youth. Israeli soldiers have been invading the town on daily bases since Monday after one resident from ar-Ram did a shooting attack on Sunday in Jerusalem killing one police officer and a woman. He was killed by Israeli army fire during the attack.
Moreover, Israeli soldiers invaded, late on Tuesday at night and early Wednesday, several districts in the occupied West Bank, broke into and violently searched many homes, and kidnapped nine Palestinians, including a woman from Jerusalem.
Later on Wednesday night, Israeli soldiers invaded Zabbouba village, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades, some targeting homes, during clashes that took place following the invasion. The soldiers also attacked a wedding party, causing many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
