On Saturday, a group of paramilitary Israeli colonial settlers assaulted Palestinian shepherds east of Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

Ratib al-Jabour, the coordinator of the Popular Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlements for the region south of Hebron, told the Palestinian Wafa News Agency that the armed paramilitary settlers assaulted the shepherds and tried to steal their sheep, before forcing them to leave the grazing areas located in the al-Jawaya area, east of Yatta.

One of the shepherds was Mamdouh Abu Tabikh, who told reporters that the armed Israeli paramilitary forces tried to steal his sheep.

Shepherds in the West Bank are frequently attacked by Israeli paramilitary forces intent on seizing their land and property by force. These colonial paramilitary settlers act with the protection of the Israeli military – despite the fact that their forced takeover of Palestinian land is a direct violation of international law and signed agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
