In a new crime of extrajudicial executions (assassination), a special force of the Israeli occupation army killed this evening, three Palestinian citizens, after direct fire at them and liquidated them after their vehicle was intercepted in Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
PCHR strongly condemns the return of the occupation to carry out extrajudicial executions, which is an official and declared Israeli policy, which claimed the lives of hundreds of Palestinian political figures and activists, and is carried out in violation of the rules of international humanitarian law that prohibit this type of killing.
According to PCHR’s investigations, at approximately 1:25 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Israeli special forces infiltrated two civilian vehicles, one of them a yellow taxi, and the other a gray Caddy, into Al Makhfeya Street, west of Nablus. The first vehicle from the front intercepted a silver-colored Seat, which was traveling on the aforementioned street, while the second vehicle intercepted a vehicle from the rear. Soldiers in military uniform got out of the two vehicles, and shot directly at three people in the car, one of whom was the driver, the other next to him, and the third in the seat. Back, shooting focused on their heads, killing them instantly. Within 5 minutes of the shooting, and after confirming that the three people were killed, the Israeli special force withdrew and left the scene. The dead were found to be: Ashraf Muhammad Abdel Fattah Mabsalt, 21, Muhammad Raed Hussein Dakhil, 22, and Adham Mabrouki (the Chechen), 21 years old, suspected of belonging to the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. Nablus.
The occupation forces admitted carrying out the assassination, and the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation – Makan said: “A special force from the IDF, the police, and the Shin Bet this afternoon in Nablus liquidated three members of a terrorist cell”[1], claiming that it had recently committed a series of shootings in Nablus city surroundings.
These operations are carried out according to intelligence information from the occupation forces, and the targets are immediately liquidated, instead of arresting them, and therefore the occupation army sets itself up as a judge and decides on a death sentence and executes it at the same time.
While the Palestinian Center for Human Rights condemns the crime of assassination, it points out that the occupation forces have used this type of crimes in previous years against the Palestinians, amid the silence of the international community, especially from the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, and the failure to work to stop these crimes and take measures And practical measures against the occupying power, which push those forces to commit more war crimes against the Palestinians.
The Center calls on the international community to intervene to stop the assassination crimes against the Palestinians as a form of field execution without trial, and to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to trial.
