The Palestinian Center For Human Rights (PCHR): statement date, October 16, 2024:
For the 12th consecutive day, the Israeli military has launched a renewed wave of genocidal violence against Palestinians in northern Gaza, specifically in JabaliaBeit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, besieging Palestinians therein and subjecting them to intense aerial and artillery bombardment.
Israel is directly implementing the so-called “Generals’ Plan, reportedly examined by the Israeli Prime Minister, that is aimed at emptying northern Gaza of its residents by laying a full siegedenying the entry of humanitarian aidforcing Palestinians to leave, and unlawfully declaring whoever remains to be a military target.
Palestinians remaining in the north of Gaza, who number around 400,000 people, are being punished for continuing to refuse to follow Israel’s unlawful forcible displacement orders.
For them, and every Palestinian in Gaza, there is no safe space left in the entire strip. They are also fearful that if they leave, then they will never be able to return to their homes and lands, as Israel’s plan to resettle through the illegal transfer of its own civilian population and annex northern Gaza is becoming clearer with every day that passes.
According to information collected by our organizations on the ground, around 400 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more, who are currently trapped in northern Gaza, are at risk of being killed.
Palestinians therein are being starved to death as Israel continues to prevent humanitarian aid trucks from reaching these areas. Those attempting to flee from the area or move from one place to another to search for ‘safety’ or food are being shot at and killed by Israeli snipers, quadcopters, and drones.
The streets are filled with dozens of dead bodies and wounded Palestinians, as medical and civil defense teams are unable to access any of these areas without risking being killed.
The main three hospitals in the North Gaza Governorate – Al-Awda Hospital, Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan Hospital – are on the verge of collapse due to the lack of fuel and they continue to be surrounded by Israeli snipers and tanks.
Our appeals throughout the past year for the international community to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza have gone in vain. We now call on the free people across the world to exert the maximum pressure on their governments and relevant stakeholders to take immediate and concrete action to end Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.
Palestinians in Gaza need your voice and support. #CeasefireNOW
