The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces abducted at least 50 Palestinians overnight until Tuesday morning in widespread campaigns across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.

According to the Society, the largest number of abductions were carried out in the governorates of Qalqilia in the northwestern West Bank and Jericho in the northeast, while others were reported in Jenin, Bethlehem, Nablus, and Ramallah.

In addition, Israeli forces continue to conduct daily field interrogations in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.

The PPS noted that these abduction operations are accompanied by violent assaults against detainees and their families, including beatings, home invasions, destruction of property, and in some cases the use of abductees as hostages to pressure “wanted” relatives to surrender.

It added that Israeli soldiers have also fired live ammunition directly at civilians during these campaigns.

The Prisoners’ Society emphasized that mass abductions remain one of the occupation’s systematic and entrenched policies, targeting all segments of Palestinian society.

Since the start of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023, the number of abductions in the West Bank has reached approximately 20,500 cases, including children, women, the elderly, journalists, and medical workers.
