The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society issued a report on Friday documenting the fact that thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli occupation prisons, in addition to Gaza detainees in the Negev death camps, are facing genocide, with the continued escalation of systematic crimes against them, unprecedented in their level and intensity since the beginning of the war of genocide against the entire population of 2.2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, the most prominent of these crimes are torture, starvation, medical crimes, and systematic attacks at various levels, including sexual assaults, abuse, robbery, and deprivation, which are practiced against the Palestinian detainees daily, without the slightest regard for international humanitarian laws and norms.

At least 45 Palestinian detainees have been tortured to death since the beginning of the war of extermination October 7th, 2023, and they are the only ones whose identities are known. There may be many more victims whose identities are unknown. On four separate occasions, Israeli forces have dumped truckloads of bodies in Gaza with no identification information and no explanation as to where the bodies came from.

The Prisoners Society continued, in a special statement on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, “Dangerous conditions have been imposed on the prisoners since the beginning of the war of extermination. Thousands of prisoners, especially those facing long prison sentences, those who have been detained for more than a year, and the sick and wounded among them, face a double threat to their fate. The sick prisoner who had the ability to endure and confront the difficult detention conditions before the war, and at the beginning of the war, is no longer able to do so with the continuation of the pace of crimes against them, specifically medical crimes represented by depriving them of treatment, and the deliberate spread of epidemics and diseases among the prisoners.”

The Prisoners Society pointed out that all data related to the situation of detainees today confirm that the number of detainees killed in detention will increase if the current level of systematic crimes against them continues.

The Prisoners Society saluted all the free people in the world who have raised their voices and continue to do so despite the great pressures imposed by some international regimes supporting the occupation, stressing that in light of the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants against war criminals (Netanyahu and Galant), in addition to the decisions previously issued by the International Court of Justice, the treatment of prisoners falls within the jurisdiction of the international legal and human rights struggle. The statement pointed out that the Israeli occupation, through its crimes and the state of exception granted to it by some international powers, has tried to deprive the human rights system of its global humanitarian role to ensure an international rule of law.

The Prisoners Club stressed the continuation of the pursuit of a global legal and human rights struggle to hold accountable the leaders of the occupation who continue to commit more war crimes, with the support of international powers, despite the voice of the free people who demand the freedom of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination, and to end the historical injustice that has continued for decades.

In this context, the Prisoners Society once again called on our people in the West Bank to participate actively on 12/1/2024 in the support stands called for by the prisoners’ institutions, forces, and national and popular frameworks for the people in Gaza and the prisoners in the Israeli occupation’s prisons.

The total number of arrests since the beginning of the war of extermination includes all those who were arrested from their homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.

In addition to these arrest campaigns, the Israeli occupation forces carried out field executions, including of members of the detainees’ families.

It is noteworthy that 43 detainees who were killed and whose identities were announced since the beginning of the war of extermination have their bodies withheld. They are among 54 detainees who were killed and whose identities were announced.

– This data does not include the number of arrests from Gaza, which is estimated in the thousands, noting that the occupation admitted that it arrested more than (4,500) citizens from Gaza, hundreds of whom were later released, noting that the occupation arrested hundreds of Gaza workers in the West Bank, in addition to citizens from Gaza who were present in the West Bank for the purpose of treatment.

The number of female detainees whose identities are known is (90), including four female detainees from Gaza whose identities are known and who are in Al-Damon prison, while the number of female administrative detainees is (28). The aforementioned number of female detainees does not include all female detainees from Gaza, as there may be female detainees in the occupation camps.

Before October 7 , 2023, the total number of detainees in prisons exceeded (5250), the number of female detainees (40), the number of children in prisons (170), and the number of administrators about (1320).
