The Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression on Tulkarem city and its camp for the 48th consecutive day on Saturday, and on Nour Shams camp for the 35th day, amid an unprecedented escalation that included intensive raids on Palestinian homes. and forcing residents out of them by force, with the continuation of the siege and raids amid military reinforcements, and punitive measures against citizens .
A Wafa news correspondent said that the sound of huge explosions was heard at dawn on Saturday in the area surrounding the woods in Nour Shams camp, coinciding with a heavy deployment of occupation soldiers. Tongues of smoke were seen rising from the area, while the windows of nearby vehicles and homes were shattered and their contents were damaged, without any injuries being reported among the citizens.
The Israeli occupation forces also fired live bullets at an ambulance while it was heading to Nour Shams camp to evacuate a patient, and prevented the ambulance from reaching her.
The Al-Mahjar neighborhood in the camp witnessed intensive house raids and searches carried out by Israeli occupation soldiers, while infantry squads were deployed in the Jabal Al-Nasr neighborhood, where they proceeded to blow up one of the gates of Al-Nasr Mosque in the camp, amid heavy gunfire. They also set fire to the home of citizen Yasser Muqbil in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood, which led to the burning of parts of the house and caused significant material damage.
In Tulkarem camp, local sources reported that occupation forces deployed their foot patrols in the Abu al-Foul and Qaqun neighborhoods of Tulkarem camp, where they raided homes, broke down doors, and wreaked havoc. They also fired sound bombs to terrorize residents. They also seized more homes and turned them into military barracks .
In the Muqata’a neighborhood, the Israeli occupation forces abducted citizen Nizar al-Tawil and his son Ahmed after assaulting them and detaining them for more than 12 hours before releasing them in the early hours of the morning. Meanwhile, a number of other citizens were subjected to abuse during raids on their homes.
In the Aktaba suburb, infantry units were deployed in the employee housing area, specifically the area opposite Nour Shams camp, where they raided citizens’ homes, conducted extensive searches inside, and subjected residents to field interrogations .
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces deployed military reinforcements towards the city and its two camps, passing through its main streets, and obstructed the movement of citizens and vehicles, while strengthening their heavy machinery and bulldozers in front of the buildings they seized on Nablus Street and turned into military barracks, and around the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, and erected mobile checkpoints to restrict the movement of Palestinian citizens.
These attacks come in the context of the ongoing escalation by the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Tulkarem and its two camps, which has resulted in the killing of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant, in addition to the injury and arrest of dozens, and the forced displacement of more than 12,000 citizens from Nour Shams camp, and another 12,000 from Tulkarem camp.
The aggression also caused widespread destruction to the infrastructure, homes, shops and vehicles, many of which were completely or partially demolished, burned, vandalized, looted and stolen.
