A child and a young man were injured on Saturday evening by Israeli occupation army gunfire in the Gaza Strip. In addition, an infant died Saturday, as a result of the severe cold in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that the 27-day-old infant, Aisha Aysh Agha, died in the city of Khan Younis due to the severe cold.

With the death of the child Agha, the death toll among children in the Gaza Strip due to the extreme cold since the beginning of winter has risen to eight children, amid a scarcity of aid and a lack of heating.

The same sources indicated that the incident reflects the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, especially for children and displaced persons who live in weak tents that are not strong enough to confront the cold weather.

The people of the Gaza Strip suffer from a lack of shelter and treatment, and a lack of heating means due to fuel scarcity, in light of a stormy, cold and rainy depression.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that a child was injured by Israeli army gunfire in the Rafah garage area in central Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and a young man was injured by Israeli gunfire east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Two people were injured, one of them a girl (15 years old), shot by bullets from an Israeli occupation force invading the Halawa School in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip. A young man (30 years old) was wounded by shrapnel from an Israeli drone bomb near the Bani Suhaila roundabout, east of the city of Khan Yunis, while raids were launched on eastern Gaza City, coinciding with the bombing of Deir al-Balah and Al-Bureij camp.

There was also renewed fire from the Israeli occupation military vehicles east of Khan Yunis and north of Rafah in the south.

In addition, the Israeli occupation army blew up a number of residential buildings east of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli tanks fired heavy gunfire east of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army continued its violations of the ceasefire agreement, which entered into force on October 11, as the death toll rose to 463 since the ceasefire, and the total number of injuries exceeded 1,269. No Israelis have been killed or wounded by Palestinian resistance forces since the ceasefire went into effect.

The death toll from the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,548 killed and 171,353 wounded since the aggression began on October 7, 2023.

In addition to the ongoing Israeli violations, Gaza faces a severe health crisis threatening thalassemia patients, a chronic genetic disease requiring regular treatment and blood transfusions to avoid serious complications. Access to medical centers is difficult due to destroyed hospitals and targeted health facilities, including the Turkish Friendship Hospital that previously offered comprehensive care.

Patients travel long distances on foot or by simple carts to reach field centers that provide limited treatment once a week. A severe shortage of iron chelation medications causes iron to accumulate in organs, leading to life threatening complications.

Humanitarian organizations such as Doctors Without Borders and the International Committee of the Red Cross provide limited support in field hospitals, but the crisis worsens amid the ongoing blockade and attacks, putting patients’ lives at immediate risk.
