Israeli forces detained two Palestinian siblings and several international solidarity activists on Wednesday following an attack by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers in the town of Tarqumiya, northwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.

Activist Suleiman Jaafra stated that a group of colonizers from a recently established colonial outpost near the Marah Abu Ra’eyya area descended on the home of Ibrahim Mohammad Qabaja and attempted to assault him.

Jaafra added that the colonizers were accompanied by Israeli soldiers throughout the incident.

Jaafra also stated that, instead of removing the attackers, Israeli forces detained Qabaja, his brother Khalil, and a number of international supporters who were present at the home.

The activists had been staying with the family in recent weeks to document repeated attacks by Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizer and provide protective presence.

Qabaja had previously been forced to evacuate his home due to ongoing colonizer assaults that posed a serious threat to his safety and the safety of his family.

Despite this, he later returned to the property, supported by international volunteers who sought to help residents withstand the escalating pressure in the area.

Local residents say the newly established outpost has triggered a surge in colonizer violence, including attempts to seize land, intimidate families, and restrict movement in the surrounding area.
