Early Friday morning, Israeli soldiers invaded the town of Azzoun, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and abducted an elderly man with special needs and his wife.

Media sources reported that several military vehicles invaded the town and drove through various neighborhoods.

They added that the soldiers abducted an elderly man with a disability, Mofeed Radwan, 70, and his wife, after storming their home and ransacking it, causing damage.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers invaded the family’s home to abduct a Palestinian, but when they couldn’t find him, they decided to abduct his father and mother and hold them hostage to pressure their son to turn himself in.

The Israeli practice of abducting parents and siblings of Palestinians deemed “wanted” by the army constitutes illegal collective punishment.

It also violates basic standards of international law, including the Four Geneva Conventions and all related human rights treaties.
