On Thursday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted five Palestinians in Tulkarem, in the occupied West Bank’s northwestern part.
Media sources said several army jeeps invaded Tulkarem from its southern area in Shoufa, before heading towards the Shweika area, Ezbet At-Tayyah, Ezbet Nasser, and Ezbet Al-Jarad, and drove in the streets and neighborhoods.
They added that the soldiers also closed various streets in the invaded areas, before storming and ransacking many homes.
During the invasions, the soldiers abducted a former political prisoner, Fawwaz Shalabi, from his home in Ezbet At-Tayyah, Yaman Shadid from his home in Ezbet Al-Jarad, in addition to former political prisoner Ahad Ghanem, and Soheib Ghannam Sheikh, from Shweika area.
In the Shweika area, the soldiers stormed a mosque before searching it and abducted Sheikh Mahdi Salah, after phoning him and ordering him to come to the mosque.
In addition, the soldiers stopped a Palestinian car at the Al-Younis junction, leading to the Shweika area, violently searched it, causing damage, and interrogated the driver while inspecting his ID card.
