Israeli soldiers abducted two young men and assaulted others in the Thannaba neighborhood, east of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank’s northwestern part, on Saturday evening.

Media sources reported that the army deployed infantry units in the streets and neighborhoods of Thannaba, particularly in the Al-Attar platforms area.

The soldiers stopped vehicles and citizens, inspected their IDs, especially those of young men, searched them, and assaulted several individuals before abducting Nasser Izzat Tabeekh and Mohammad Shabrawi, both residents of the Nur Shams refugee camp.

The soldiers also intensified their military measures in Thannaba, particularly in the area adjacent to the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps.

They stopped a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance while it was trying to evacuate a medical case from the area, searched the ambulance, and interrogated the medics before forcing them to leave.

In a related context, Israeli forces set up a military roadblock on Nablus Street, connecting the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps.

The army stopped and searched vehicles, inspected passengers’ IDs, and assaulted several young me, and continued to occupy several residential buildings, turning them into military outposts.

Additionally, Israeli forces sent reinforcements to the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, deploying foot patrols in their neighborhoods and alleys, raiding homes, searching them, and causing damage to their contents.

Furthermore, Israeli forces set up a military roadblock at the southern entrance of Tulkarem city on Saturday evening, stopping vehicles for extended periods, searching them, and checking passengers’ IDs, leading to traffic congestion in both directions.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression against Tulkarem city and its refugee camp for the 41st consecutive day and against the Nur Shams refugee camp for the 28th consecutive day, with military reinforcements, home raids, shootings at citizens, and destruction of homes and infrastructure.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) stated that the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps in the northern West Bank have become uninhabitable due to the ongoing aggression and massive destruction by the occupation forces.

It explained that this aggression is the longest and most destructive since the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000 and has resulted in the largest wave of Palestinian displacement in the West Bank since 1967, with the occupation forcing around 40,000 Palestinians to be displaced from their homes.

UNRWA pointed out that the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps have been almost entirely evacuated of their residents, amid widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure, including homes, and under these circumstances, citizens face the possibility of having no place to return to.

The ongoing aggression on the city and the refugee camps has resulted in the death of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant, in addition to the injury and abduction of dozens, and the forced displacement of more than 9,000 citizens from the Nur Shams refugee camp and 12,000 from the Tulkarem refugee camp.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army invaded many villages and towns, especially Kafr Ein, near Ramallah in the central West Bank, and closed streets. The soldiers also invaded Beita and Burqa, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and fired many live rounds and gas bombs.

On Saturday evening, the army stormed the villages of Asla and Azzoun Atma east of Qalqilia, firing gas bombs and concussion grenades in the Al-Khat and Al-Wad areas.

Bayan Al-Tibi, a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement, said the soldiers also invaded the town of Azzoun, east of Qalqilia, twice from its main northern entrance, and increased the restrictions and closures around the city of Qalqilia. They set up a military roadblock at the eastern entrance of the city, stopped vehicles, searched them, and checked passengers’ IDs, causing a severe traffic jam.

Al-Tibi indicated that the forces deliberately harass and tighten restrictions on the lives of citizens in various ways, including daily raids and arrests, as well as setting up military checkpoints.

Since the beginning of this year, Israeli soldiers have killed at least 96 Palestinians, including 16 children and 2 women, in the occupied West Bank: 43 in Jenin, 18 in Tubas, 14 in Tulkarem, 11 in Nablus, 5 in Hebron, 2 in Bethlehem, 1 in Jerusalem, and 1 in Qalqilia.
