On Friday evening, a young man suffered head contusions due to an assault by the soldiers who beat him with rifles while he was on his land in the town of Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit in the central part of the occupied West Bank.
Ahmad ad-Dik, a resident of the town, said the soldiers attacked the young man, Waheeb Mahyoub ad-Dik, 20 years old, striking him on the head with rifles, causing him to lose consciousness.
Ahmad added that Palestinian medics rushed to the area and transported Waheeb to the Yasser Arafat Hospital in Salfit.
It is worth mentioning that illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers first invaded Palestinian lands in the She’ab area, attacked many shepherds, and prevented them from grazing their livestock before the soldiers invaded the area and assaulted Wahbeeb.
Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
