Earlier Tuesday, Israeli soldiers invaded the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank’s northern part, fatally shot a young man, and fired live rounds at Palestinians, including medics, wounding three medics with live ammunition.
The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the soldiers killed Dia’ Hani Abdul-Rahman Dweikat, 25, from Balata town, after shooting him with live rounds in the abdomen and the thigh.
The incidents occurred after undercover soldiers infiltrated the refugee camp from the direction of Beit Furik military roadblock, near Beit Furik town, southeast of Nablus.
Shortly after the undercover forces infiltrated the refugee camp, many army vehicles invaded it, before the soldiers stormed and isolated several neighborhoods.
Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with the invading soldiers and detonated explosive charges near the advancing armored military vehicles.
Ahmad Jibril, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Nablus, said the PRCS received calls regarding several injuries by Israeli army fire in a home in the Hashashin neighborhood and added that the army prevented the medics from reaching the area.
Jibril stated that, despite prior coordination by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with the Israeli army, the soldiers opened fire at PRCS ambulances, wounding three medics while trying to evacuate wounded Palestinians from the refugee camp.
The PRCS stated that it also received a report of injuries inside a house in the Hashashin neighborhood and that Israeli forces prevented ambulance crews from reaching the site.
Israel has now killed 720 Palestinians, including 160 children, 12 women, one elder, two medics and one journalist, and injured 5.750, including 660 children, in the occupied West Bank, in addition to killing twelve Palestinians from historic Palestine, since October 7, 2023.
In the Gaza Strip, Israel has now killed at least 41.615 Palestinians, including 16.981 children, 11.458 women, and injured more than 96.359 Palestinians, largely children and women, in addition to the thousands of missing Palestinians, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, and in destroyed alleys, across the devastated coastal enclave, since October 7, 2023.
