Almost 1.9 million Palestinians live in the Gaza Strip, making almost 40% of the total Palestinian population in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, and two thirds of them are refugees, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said, on Wednesday.
Introducing the Population, Housing and Establishments Census 2017, PCBS President Ola Awad told a press conference, in Gaza, that the total population of the Gaza Strip was 1,899,291, which is 39.7% of the total number of people in the state of Palestine.
She said, according to WAFA, that males make up 50.7% of the total and females 49.3%.
Awad also said that the total refugee population in Gaza amounts to 1,239,112, or 65.2 percent of the total.
