Seventeen‑year‑old Fadi Hamdallah an‑Na’san died at dawn Saturday from injuries sustained a week earlier when Israeli soldiers shot him with an expanding bullet during an invasion of al‑Mughayyer, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank’s central region, as illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked the village.

Medical sources said Fadi succumbed early Saturday to the critical injuries he suffered when Israeli occupation soldiers fired an explosive round into his thigh. Doctors were forced to amputate his leg on Thursday due to the severity of the wound.

Deputy head of the al‑Mughayyer Village Council, Marzouq Abu Na’im, said an‑Na’san was shot on July 11 when Israeli soldiers and colonizers attacked the home of local resident Mohammad Abu ‘Alia.

Soldiers fired live rounds, striking the teen, while other residents were injured with rubber‑coated metal bullets. Ten‑year‑old Raed Odah Abu ‘Alia was hit in the head with a concussion grenade.

Residents of al‑Mughayyer held a funeral procession Saturday, carrying an‑Na’san’s body from the Palestine Medical Complex to his family home for a final farewell.

Mourners marched through the village streets, raising Palestinian flags and chanting against ongoing Israeli crimes.

The funeral prayer was held in the courtyard of the village’s main hall before burial in the local cemetery.

The slain teen was a football player for the al‑Mughayyer club and a member of the central‑region youth national team.

Ahead of the funeral, Israeli forces closed the village’s only accessible entrance in both directions, blocking residents from passing. The eastern entrance has remained closed for four years before being partially reopened.

Soldiers also fired volleys of tear‑gas canisters toward the al‑Mughayyer Boys School, igniting a fire in the school’s garden.

Al‑Mughayyer and surrounding villages continue to face repeated attacks by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers targeting residents and their property, alongside ongoing invasions by Israeli occupation forces.

Israel has now killed 77 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of this year, among then 17 who were killed by Israeli colonizers.
