On Friday, Israeli colonists opened fire on Palestinian citizens on a farm east of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, after citizens attempted to repel a colonial attack targeting a poultry farm.
Marzouq Abu Naim, deputy head of the Al-Mughayyir Village Council, said that a number of Israeli colonists attempted to storm the farm east of the village, but Palestinian citizens tried to stop them. The colonists then opened fire on them, sparking clashes before Israeli occupation forces attacked the Palestinian land defenders with tear gas, and protected the Israeli colonists as they invaded the farm.
In a related incident, two Palestinian citizens from Al-Mughair were injured after Israeli colonists attacked them on the Al-Maarajat Road linking Ramallah and Jericho.
The injured Muhyiddin Abu Naim narrated what happened to him, as he and his colleague were returning from their work in Al-Auja, Jericho District, and they came across a vehicle that needed to have its damaged tire replaced. When they tried to help the owner of the vehicle, Israeli colonists – who arrived in two vehicles – attacked them with sticks and sharp tools, which led to Muhyiddin and his colleague sustaining fractures and bruises. The colonists also caused damage to the vehicles, while the two injured were transferred for treatment.
Israeli colonists continued their attacks on the water well belonging to the Bir al-Maskoub Bedouin community, east of occupied Jerusalem, as part of continuous targeting of water sources belonging to Bedouin communities in the region.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the Palestinian Bedouin community documented, during the past weeks, the Israeli colonists storming the well and throwing unknown materials and objects into it, which threatens to pollute the water source on which the residents of the compound and the surrounding Bedouin communities depend to meet their basic water needs and water their livestock.
These attacks come in the context of continuous targeting of Bedouin communities and water sources, in an attempt to undermine their survival and push their residents to leave their lands, so Israeli colonizers can take over the land by force.
Three Palestinian citizens were injured and bruised, and two vehicles were damaged today, Friday, following an attack by Israeli colonists, in Al-Auja Falls and Al-Marajat Road in Jericho Governorate.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews in Jericho dealt with two injuries after the colonists assaulted them in the Al-Auja Falls area, north of Jericho, and they were transferred to the hospital.
Security sources reported to a Wafa correspondent that the colonists threw stones at citizens’ vehicles on the Al-Maarajat Road to the west, wounding one citizen, damaging two vehicles and smashing their windows.
Also Friday, the Israeli occupation forces abducted a young man from Nour Shams camp, east of Tulkarm.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces abducted the young man, Muhammad Nimr al-Ghoul, after raiding his shop on Al-Muqata’a Street in the eastern neighborhood of the city.
In a separate incident on Friday, dozens of Israeli colonists desecrated the Bab al-Rahma cemetery adjacent to the eastern wall of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and performed Talmudic rituals and blew the trumpet adjacent to the graves of Muslims, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that these rituals were held from the outside of the cemetery, for the third week in a row, in light of the escalating demands of the alleged Temple groups to impose their religious rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque during Jewish holidays.
The Israeli colonists, while being prevented from performing some of these rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, are moving towards imposing them in its vicinity, in front of its doors and in the areas adjacent to its wall, most notably the Bab Al-Rahma Cemetery, in an attempt to impose a new fait accompli and expand the manifestations of Judaization from inside the mosque to its surroundings, targeting its Islamic identity and the status of the sanctities and landmarks surrounding it.
These rituals coincided with the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by 409 colonists yesterday, Thursday, from the Mughrabi Gate, during the morning and evening storming periods, under the protection of the occupation forces, while dozens of colonists performed collective and public rituals in the Bab al-Rahma area, amid strict restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshippers and preventing them from reaching the area during the colonists’ storming.
The Jerusalem Governorate stressed that choosing the area adjacent to Bab al-Rahma to hold these rituals carries a strategic danger, given its location and direct geographical contact with the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which targets the identity of the historical cemetery and threatens the vicinity of the mosque on its eastern side, and represents an extension of the occupation’s policy aimed at Judaizing the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and imposing new facts on one of the most important Islamic sites in Jerusalem.
The governorate warned against exploiting the Jewish holiday season to expand incursions, impose new religious rituals, expand the times and areas of the intruders’ presence, restrict worshipers and endowment workers, and harm the elements of the existing historical and legal situation in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Also Friday, Israeli colonists stole a number of sheep in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
Local sources reported that a number of colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation soldiers, attacked the homes of citizens from the Dhahra area and the “Al-Hara Al-Tahta” plain in Beita, and stole a herd of sheep from local Palestinian shepherds.
All Israeli colonies established on Palestinian land occupied by Israel in 1967 are illegal under international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention. But no international bodies have intervened to stop the wholesale takeover of Palestinian land by Israeli colonizers, who act with complete impunity.
