Do you appreciate the work of the IMEMC? Are you a person passionate about accurate and informative news coverage of what’s happening on a daily basis in Israel & Palestine? Do you have experience writing?
We need you!!
We are currently recruiting for volunteer writers and editors who are able to commit at least 8 hours per week to helping with the IMEMC. You can be located anywhere in the world – our team operates remotely, communicating with reporters and editors through the internet. You just need to be fluent in English and have experience writing (preferably experience with news articles, but other experience counts too).
Planning a trip to the region? We also have on-site volunteers at our headquarters in Beit Sahour, so please note that in your application, along with the dates of your intended travel.
We will provide training in our processes and workflow, and a copy of the IMEMC Reporters Handbook, which was put together by a number of prominent journalists who have worked with IMEMC through the years and provides a description of why and how we cover the news of this conflict, preferred terminology and explanations, and AP versus other news writing styles.
