Israeli soldiers kidnapped on Tuesday at dawn Hamas legislator, member of the Change and Reform Parliamentary Bloc, Sheikh Ahmad Al Haj, after breaking into his home in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.The daughter of legislator Al Haj stated that the army broke into her fathers’ home in Al Maajeen area, east of Nablus, at two at dawn, after surrounding the residential building were he lives.
The army then cuffed the 72-year-old man and took him to an unknown destination.
Al Haj was kidnapped and imprisoned by Israel at least ten times; the last time he was kidnapped was in 2008 when he was placed under administrative detention for 15 months without charges.
Furthermore, the army kidnapped Mustafa Al Shinnar, a lecturer at the Al Najah University in Nablus.
Al Shinnar was also repeatedly kidnapped and imprisoned by Israel; in 2008 he was kidnapped and placed under administrative detention for two years.
In his latest Facebook posting, Al Shinnar stated that the doubts the future of Palestinian reconciliation deal amidst ongoing arrests carried out by the Palestinian Security Forces of the Fateh movement, and demanded activating the Palestinian Legislative Council so it can perform its duties.
He also called called for reforming the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and for implementing all segments of the National Unity Agreement.
Al Shinnar was imprisoned three times by the Palestinian Security Forces, and recently underwent a heart Catheterization procedure in Nablus.
In related news, Israeli soldiers kidnapped on Tuesday at dawn 13 Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank, and took them to interrogation centers.
