Israeli soldiers invaded, on Saturday at night, the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and clashed with local youths, wounding ten Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets, while at least 25 others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation; the soldiers also kidnapped one of the wounded residents.The clashes took place in the an-Naqqar neighborhood, west of Qalqilia, and near the Workers Crossing, north of the city.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers kidnapped Mo’in Mahmoud Qobtan, 30 years of age, from Qalqilia, after shooting him with a rubber-coated steel bullet.
Head of the Emergency Department in Qalqilia Monther Nazzal said nine Palestinians were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets in the an-Naqqar neighborhood, and that two of them were hospitalized, while eighteen others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
He added that one Palestinian was also shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet, and seven suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, near the crossing, north of the city.
Also on Saturday at night, the soldiers kidnapped six Palestinians, including a father and his son, in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and the nearby towns of Yatta and Halhoul, while seven Palestinians were wounded in ensuing clashes.
