In a press release, the Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS) stated that Israeli forces detained at least seven Palestinians, overnight Wednesday, in multiple incursions across the West Bank, the Palestinian News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.
Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinians from the northern West Bank district of Qalqilia, one of the detainees, 36, suffers from head and spinal injuries as a result of a traffic accident in 2016.
Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, a resident of the Jenin refugee camp was detained after being stopped at a military checkpoint near Nablus city.
PPS also confirmed an Israeli military invasion in Qarawat Bani Hassan town, located to the northwest of Salfit, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
In Jericho region, two Palestinian teens, identified as residents of Aqabat Jabr refugee camp, located to southwest of Jericho city, were detained after being summoned by the Israeli intelligence.
In Hebron district, Israeli military vehicles invaded Bani Neim town, where soldiers abducted one Palestinian.
Meanwhile, Israeli police ordered the nighttime house arrest of six Palestinian youths from the Jerusalem neighborhood of al-‘Isawiya.
Israeli forces frequently storm Palestinian homes across the West Bank under the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinian civilians, triggering resistance from residents.
These incursions, which take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the Israeli military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
