A Palestinian young man was seriously injured, on Monday, when Israeli police officers shot him near Jabal Mukaber neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported.
Israel’s Channel 7 alleged that the man attempted to stab police officers near Jabal Mukaber, video footage of the scene showed the young man lying on the ground and bleeding.
Hebrew media reported that the wounded Palestinian man was transferred to an Israeli hospital in serious condition.
Local sources said that Israeli police, on Monday evening, stormed the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood, and abducted two young brothers, identified as Riyadh and Akram Basheer from their home.
Palestinian lawyer, Mohamed Mahmoud, identified the alleged attacker, and shooting victim as Ridwan Basheer.
Eyewitnesses reportedly called into question the police allegations that the injured Basheer tried to stab police officers, stating that police officers shot the young man at a checkpoint, following an altercation with him.
Important to note that Israeli police, on Tuesday, stormed al-‘Isawiya district of east Jerusalem, and ransacked the homes of 5 Palestinian young men before abducting them.
