The Palestinian Islamic Resistance movement, Hamas, declared on Sunday, that it named three candidates for the upcoming Legislative Elections, slated to take place on January, 25, 2006.

The movements said that it concluded all of the needed procedures and preparations to participate in the election.

The three candidates which the movement named are Mohammed Jamal Natshe from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, Saleh al Aruri from the Ramallah region and Jamal Abu Al Heija, from Jenin, north of the West Bank.

The three Hamas candidates are currently detained in Israeli detention facilities.

The revelation was made by Mohammed Nateshe during a telephone conversation from the Kitziot detention camp (Negev), the Palestine Info news website reported.

Hamas has so far refrained from releasing the names of its candidates apparently lest they be arrested by the Israeli army.

Recently the Israeli army carried vast arrests against members of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad; hundreds of activists of the two movements were arrested.

Many of the detainees are believed to be potential candidates in the elections.
