The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported on Thursday that the Palestinian national Authority (P.A) signed on Wednesday an agreement with the Norwegian government and the European Union to support the Palestinian Civil Police development plan.
The 750.000$ agreement deal is endeavored for supporting the reliability of the Palestinian civil police, helping Palestinians maintain stability, law and establishing sustainable and effective policing arrangements in the Occupied Territories.
The agreement is a part of the Norwegian support to the European Program which aims to assist the P.A in developing a modern a effective Civil Police Service in the Palestinian territories.
Head of the EU Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories, Jonathan McIvor, said that the EU will exert developed efforts in this field, saying that there are 33 international advisers working to help Palestinians build up their police capacity.
Also, Minister of Planning, Ghassan Al Khateeb, appreciated the EU supportive role in security field, saying that it important for the Palestinians to feel a political, economical and social stability.
