At least four Palestinians were killed; four others were injured, on Wednesday evening, after the Israeli Air Force fired several missiles at a vehicle driving in Al Shuja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
A local source in Gaza reported that the missiles were fired at resistance fighters, driving a white Subaru driving east of Gaza city.
The fighters were identified as Husam Abu Nada, Mohammad Hajjo, Rashad Al Sin, and Hmadan Mhanna.
Abu Mojahid, member of the Salah Ed Deen Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, said that the four are members of the brigades, and that they were on their way to carry an attack against the army.
Abu Mojahid added that even if the fighters were not members of the brigades, “it will retaliate to the crime, and any crime carried by the army, not verbally but practically”.
He appealed all resistance fighters not to drive private vehicles, especially since the Israeli war-jets are still seen over the Gaza skies.
Abu Abeer, a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees, vowed revenge for the attack, urging Israelis in the Negev town of Sderot “to flee their homes because soon our rockets will target them”.
On Wednesday evening, an Israeli official said that Israel will continue its assassinations against resistance fighters “at the right time and place”.
The official added that Israel sometimes hands the P.A lists of fighters who are believed to be planning to conduct operations against Israel, but “when the P.A does not conduct the needed procedures, Israel takes the needed measure and assassinates them”.
Also, and senior Israeli military official claimed after the attack, that the targeted vehicle was loaded with explosives, and that the four fighters who were inside it “were on their way to the Karni Crossing, since they planned to conduct a large-scale attack there”.
