An Israeli apache fired, on Saturday evening, several missiles at a vehicle near the Sofa crossing, near Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and killed one of the leaders of Abu Al Reesh Brigades, one of Fateh’s military wings; at least three residents were injured.
A local source in Rafah reported that the vehicle was driving from Khan Younis to Rafah when an Israeli apache fired missile at it.
A medical source in Abu Yousef Al Najjar hospital, in Rafah, identified the assassinated fighter as Khaled Abu Sitta, 25; the body of Abu Sitta was severely mutilated, which made it difficult to identify him immediately; three other residents suffered moderate-to-sever wounds.
The brigades vowed “harsh and fast” retaliation adding that it will transform its words into actions “very soon”.
Israeli online daily, Ynetnews (Yedioth Ahronoth), reported that Israeli military officials denied any relation to the attack.
Also, on Saturday evening, a Palestinian resistance group fired a homemade shell which exploded near the border fence in Gaza, no injuries were reported.
In a separate incident, under-cover units of the Israeli army shot and injured one resident near the West Bank city of Tulkarem.
The resident is believed to be a member of the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.
