A Palestinian security source reported, on Sunday at night, that Egypt has agreed to reopen its border with Gaza Strip after Palestinian fighters reached an agreement with European officials, and pledged to keep calm in the area.
The Rafah Border Crossing was closed last Thursday after gunmen, said to be members of the Al Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fateh movement, shot and killed two Egyptian police officers and injured twelve others, during clashes which erupted on the borders.
Members of the Al Aqsa Brigades drove two bulldozers and demolished segments of the wall which separates Gaza from Egypt.
The Egyptian Authorities boosted its forces stationed in the area, and threatened to keep the crossing closed until the Palestinian Authority and contains the chaos.
All of the Palestinian factions slammed the clashes which caused the death of the two Egyptian border policemen and the large number on injuries on both sides.
The Palestinian Authority declared the two Egyptian officers killed in the attack as martyrs of the "Palestinian cause".
