A spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, reported on Monday that Hamas members held talks two months ago with French officials, and that recently the movement held talks with an Indian diplomat despite U.S. and Israeli efforts to isolate the Hamas-led Palestinian government and the movement itself.
Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas media spokesperson, reported that the France understands the necessity for the European Union to reconsider its position regarding the movement, and that French officials have promised to make an effort with other European countries in this regard.
Abu Zuhri added that meetings with French officials were held in Gaza two months ago; he did not identify the officials or revealed details about the talks.
France denied the report earlier on Monday, and said that it did not have any contact or talks with Hamas.
