On Friday evening, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinian residents in the Gaza Strip, one resident is a shepherd while the second, killed in a separate attack, is a resistance fighter, Palestinian medical and security sources reported.
Dr. Moawiya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, reported that Ghanim Al Khateeb, a local farmer and a shepherd from the Bedouin Village, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, suffered several rounds of live ammunition in his chest.
Al Khateeb died of his wounds in a Gaza hospital on Friday night. He was herding his sheep near the former Israeli settlement of Eli Sinai. The area is fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority since Israel’s pullout from Gaza last year.
Dr. Hassanen added that recently there have been repeated attacks carried by Israeli soldiers in an tempt to bar local shepherds and farmers from entering Palestinian farmlands in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, one fighter of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad was shot and killed during clashes with Israeli soldiers near the juice factory, east of Gaza City.
The fighter was identified as Mohammad Al Nather; he suffered several rounds of live ammunition in several parts of his body, medical sources reported.
The Islamic Jihad Movement said that one of its fighters was killed and another was injured after they were surrounded by Israeli soldiers near Al Shuhada (Martyrs) Graveyard, east of Gaza City.
In a press release, the movement stated that the two fighters fired a Quds 4 homemade shell at Ashkelon before they were surrounded and attacked by Israeli troops.
The two attacks raises the number of Palestinians killed on Friday to seven.
Earlier on Friday, the Israeli under-cover forces shot and killed two Palestinians in Al-Obaydiya village east of Bethlehem.
Khaled 24, and Okla Shalyta 32, were shot dead by an Israeli undercover unit who infiltrated into the village and were backed by a large force consisting of 15 military vehicles in addition to a helicopter and a drone.
Troops, who were wearing civilian clothes, exchanged fire with the two Palestinians who are members of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, before rounding them up in a cave and killing them.
Earlier on Friday morning, three Palestinians were killed in Deir Abu D’eif village near Jenin city, in the northern part of the West Bank city, in an explosion in swimming pool.
The three were identified as Shadi Yassen, 28, Adnan Darghma, 25, and Mallek Yassen, 20. The causes of the blast remained unknown, Israeli military sources claimed that the three were preparing explosive charges.
