Israeli forces invaded, before dawn Sunday, the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, injuring five Palestinian young men with live rounds, local sources reported.
Late Saturday night, a large army forces invaded the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the West Bank, sparking fierce protests from local Palestinians.
Local youths resisted the incursion, while armed Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with the invading army, in addition to throwing explosive devices at the armored vehicles.
Soldiers opened heavy fire with live rounds, shooting and injuring five young men with shrapnel (bullet fragments).
Media sources said the five wounded men were transported to the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarem, and the were deemed to be in stable condition.
According to a Quds Press correspondent, “clashes broke out in the camp between young men and the occupation forces, after special forces infiltrated the camp with the aim of arresting Palestinian resistance fighters.”
The correspondent added that, “Large forces stormed the camp, following the exposure of the special force, which deployed in the camp’s streets and alleys, amid house raids.”
The army withdrew from the camp without executing any abductions among Palestinian resistance fighters.

In related news, Israeli forces attacked Palestinian youths in the “Al-Matina” area of the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank, injuring several civilians.
Local Palestinian youths protested the military invasion, throwing stones at the army, which soldiers responded to by firing live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters at the young men.
Many Palestinian youths suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation, and were all treated on site by local medics.
It is important to mention that a Palestinian resistance fighter was killed, and another seriously injured, Thursday, after an accidental detonation of a crude explosive device, in the central besieged Gaza Strip.
