Medical sources have reported that Khaled Salam Fuqaha, 19, has died from serious wounds he sustained after an Israeli soldier shot him with a live round last Thursday, October 19, 2023.
They added that the Palestinian was admitted to surgery and was placed in Intensive Care but succumbed to his serious wounds.
Israeli soldiers have killed 96 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since October 6.
In the Gaza Strip, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli missiles and shells has exceeded 5795, including 2360 children and 1292 women. At least 18000 Palestinians have been injured, hundreds seriously.
Three Palestinian hospitals in Gaza had to shut down, which brings the number of closed hospitals in Gaza to 10 out of the 35 hospitals serving the needs of more than 2.23 million Palestinians in the besieged and devastated coastal enclave.
The Health Ministry also said that five hospitals in Gaza had to install tents to treat patients and the wounded due to overcrowding and are running out of supplies. Some hospitals had to repurpose bedsheets and gowns to use as bandages and other medical usages.
Hospitals that are still operational are housing %150 more than their designated capacities, which also meant some surgeries without anesthesia and using light from mobile phones, in addition to being forced to treat wounded Palestinians on the ground, in corridors, and other spaces that are unfit for these types of medical procedures.
685,000 Palestinians have been displaced and are sheltering with other families; 656,000 Palestinians are sheltering in UNRWA schools, 101,000 are sheltering in mosques, churches, and public buildings, and 70,000 Palestinians are staying in governmental schools.
Number of destroyed residential buildings is 26684, in addition to 405000 partially damaged.
The Israeli army killed 42 medical workers in Gaza since the offensive began and damaged 34 medical facilities and 50 ambulances (including 23 ambulances that were destroyed).
