The Al Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas movement, reported
that one of its fighters, in the central Gaza Strip, died after an
underground tunnel collapsed on him.
The brigades said that Bakir Na'im Al Assar, 20, from the Nusseirat refugee camp, died on Sunday morning while digging an underground tunnel.
The statement of the brigades did not specify the location of the tunnel.
Palestinian medical source at Al Aqsa Hospital reported that Al Assar arrived dead at the hospital.
The Ramattan News Agency reported that this is the first time that the Hamas armed wing officially announces the death of one of its fighters while digging a tunnel in the Gaza Strip.
