On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers invaded the Wad Qaddoum neighborhood in Ras Al-Amoud in occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, displacing four families.

Media sources said several military and police vehicles, including bulldozers, invaded the neighborhood, forced the families out, and demolished the building.

They added that the demolished buildings contained eight apartments, 110 square meters each, on two floors.

The building is owned by Zoheir Abdul-Aziz Gheith, his brother Morad, in addition to Fahed Mubarak and his brother Mohammad.

It was built in 2016, and the families have since been paying fines and fees that exceeded 800000 Shekels, in addition to various appeals until an Israeli court made, last Wednesday, a final decision to demolish it.

Two days ago, the soldiers invaded Bani Neim town, east of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank’s southern part and demolished a home.

Last week, Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian-owned apartment, and three other citizens were forced to demolish their own homes in occupied Jerusalem.

While Israel continues to build and expand its illegal colonies, Palestinian communities and towns in occupied Jerusalem and various areas in the occupied West Bank continue to be denied the right to build homes and property under various allegations meant to prevent the expansion of Palestinian towns and neighborhoods.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
