Palestinian sources reported on Friday night after midnight that
Israeli soldiers fired a shell at a residential building in Sheikh
Zayid city, north of Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza
Strip; injuries were reported.
The sources stated that tanks stationed at the northern and eastern borders of the Gaza Strip fired shells at Sheikh Zayid area, one of the shells hit flat number 70 causing excessive damage, several residents were injured.
The shelled flat belongs to members of Abu Nahil family.
Rescue crews and civil defense teams headed to the shelled area in order to evacuate the wounded, local sources reported.
After the shelling, several residents fled their homes after noticing Israeli aerial activities over their areas of residence, in the town of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun.
